Two checks usually done by eye: whether the motorhome sits in the space you have, and whether it can get there. The second one is what scratches the sides. Enter the measurements in centimeters and get a cross-section, floor plan and verdict, with a sheet you can save as PDF.
The general measurements of the spot. Right and left are meant looking toward the far end, i.e. the way you drive in.
Anything that narrows the space: walls, sheds, eaves, ceilings, steps, poles, plants, doors. Each one is on a side, starts at a certain distance from the entrance, has a length, protrudes into the passage by a certain amount and starts at a certain height. Whatever is higher than the vehicle is ignored, because you pass underneath it.
90-degree turn from a maneuvering space into a passage. The calculation considers a single continuous maneuver: with two or three back-and-forth moves the space needed drops considerably.

Two mistakes throw off almost every calculation: the width stated by manufacturers is the bodywork width and does not include the mirrors, which add 15 to 30 centimeters in total; the height is the unladen one and does not include the air conditioner, bike rack, roof hatches and antennas. Measure both with a tape on the vehicle.
